President Museveni Receives a Heroic Welcome in Kotido, Reaffirms Commitment to Karamoja’s Transformation

Kotido, Uganda — The Karamoja sub-region came alive with jubilation as His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa, President of the Republic of Uganda, visited Kotido District to meet and address the people. The visit drew thousands of enthusiastic residents, local leaders, and youth groups who gathered to show their unwavering support for the Head of State. The President, warmly received with traditional Karimojong dances and songs, commended the people of Kotido for their resilience and unity. In his address, he emphasized the government’s continuous efforts to maintain peace and promote development in the region through initiatives in education, health, and modern agriculture. Museveni also reaffirmed his government’s commitment to addressing the unique challenges facing Karamoja, including climate resilience, livestock improvement, and economic empowerment. He called upon the youth to engage in productive activities and take advantage of government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga. “Karamoja’s transformation will come through hard work, peace, and the correct use of government programs. Let us focus on productivity and stop dependence,” the President stated. Local leaders praised the President for his visionary leadership and consistent support to the region, noting that his visit renewed hope and confidence among the people. As the sun set over the rugged plains of Kotido, chants of “Museveni Oyee!” filled the air, symbolizing a strong bond between the President and the people of Karamoja.
